Hi Phil you used to be such a nice boy (i'm sure you still are deep down) ... ...
There's always 2 sides to a story ...
Look ! ... I was there and I do know I what happened. I think it was about attitude more than anything else. There are way's to deal with thing's without making your guest's not feel welcome, we made a joint decision to leave even with one of your team mates in tow ...
What you have to realise is that the person in question does have a drink problem (he can't possibly drink his daily intake in 2 hours after a match) and it does come across a being a bit greedy but:
1. He needs a drink to calm his nerves at finally being picked to play a team match this year and:
2. He does not socialise very well when he's sober !
You've also got to realise that are few of us are on hard times at the moment and there is not a lot of work about (esp in Folkestone) and the only way we can afford a night out is to pay a tenner for an away match fight for a no 5 spot, hopefully go on first and drink as much as possible.
Look at it from our point of view because we were not happy either ...
We turn up in and are told we couldn't wear our snow shoes and ski suits on court, we lose all five games, not even close 3 - 0, 3 - 0, 3 - 0, 3- 0, 3 - 0. Barely wet our whistles, leave before the sausage casserole and roasties come out, end up in Vasa spending a further £20.00 then another £10.00 on a greasy donna kebab then get an ear bashing from the old lady for waking her up and spilling mayo all over the sheets !
Great night that was ...
Look lets not get too serious fellas we've always had good relations and some good banter in the past. Let's not spoil it.
Regards Alan
