Ok, so the summer leagues are going to start soon.

Let's try PAR scoring for both Priory and Outer Kent leagues this year.

Division 1 up to 11 and the rest up to 15, still best of 5 obviously!

And then at the end of the summer we will be able to have a proper informed view about the whole PAR issue.

What damage could it do? Exactly - None !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to the PL1 vs PL2 report for tonights match.
Maybe they should both do a report, so we can get a balanced view of the match, and not discuss it just post it on here.

Hi Mark

I am sill trying to work out why you blanked me at the AGM, your 2 associates I am not too bothered about but I thought you was above that sort of thing. I had the impression you all came to the meeting on a mission but judging by your first match report looks as though your wires got crossed. As far as the match report tonight the two people running the teams have a lot of experience and care greatly about what some of you are trying to do to squash in this county. You are of course entitled to your point of view but as far as I am concerned and I think Clive is concerned what you are trying to do is putting nails into the coffin of squash in this county. ..In my opinion it is probably right for juniors and professional players because they have to play 4 or 5 games in a weekend. But as for Priory players No Way. If that is the road you and your associates want to go down, then we will just have to try and put a stop to it for the sake of Priory Squash as Clive and me see it.

Hi Tom

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but I am sure already know that. As far as the match report is concerned we will have to see who the match turns out. Bearing in mind we will be probably in the bottom 3 and ParkLangley in the top 3. Make your own conclusions from that.

Hello Ken,
I'm sorry if you think I blanked you, my apologies. I remember saying hello when I arrived, It is not something I consciously did.
With regards to PAR, and the vote, i thought, like Duane that it would be good to try it out to see how it went. And from the posts on the forum it has created a discussion that probably wouldn't have happened.
As a player i have had to change my game to suit the new scoring, ie, less mistakes. both my matches so far have been around the 60 minute mark (and last night’s match was with Malcolm Parker!) so no complaints from me. I think when players realise that they need to concentrate for every point then the games will lengthen.
As far as I’m concerned in the winter we will be back to Hi Ho unless we spend another night at the warren discussing who votes, what division votes and how many votes each team get.
On a plus side, last night’s match was very competitive, we started on time and we finished by 10:15.

I notice Mark, (well played by the way) you have put the match times on the score sheet after the scores, just one thing I thought about last night when I heard someone say how long the match they were marking had lasted.

Are the times Ken and yourself are posting for match lengths only for time on court or the time the ball is in play? As I don't ever remember not including the time between games and warm up when telling someone how long I was on court for in my post match excuses, I mean discussion.

I bet if you were to take out the warm up, and the break between games of a Hi Ho match and only record the time the ball was in play, which I think is what may be happening here, then the times would end up being much the same.

Good match last night though and I am still not convinced either on the PAR, we still got home at midnight. I know PAR didn't really help me much, but thats because I didn't think about what I was doing at key points, and I lost because of that, 7:9 down in the 5th is a lot different to 8:8 in PAR 11, I need to remember that. I know my 2nd game was a disaster where I found myself outplayed for the first 5 points, then made 2 errors and was 7-0 behind very quickly so gave up on that game, possibly the first 11:0 of the season, maybe I would have dug in on the Hi Ho scoring, in fact I know I would have.

I think I like the Hi Ho best...
Match times are from the start of the 1st to the end of the match, all inclusive.

Clive, nice to see (like myself) that you are getting your 5 games in each week!
