Yes apparently that is the normal protocol. I think the rule needs tightening up so that you can only add a new player to the bottom of the team in order to make up the numbers and not somewhere higher up as that amounts to strengthening the team…

Agreed. Surely the Committee should have contacted you before the match to see if you were happy with the decision. You could then have said no.

What's the poiint of having rules?

We played a relegation decider this week where the other team made use of a player who has played just once this summer for a higher team! I thought there was a rule against clubs bringing in players for the final matches of the season to help secure a much needed result?Ah yes here it is:"Any player representing a club in the last 4 league fixtures (winter league) or 2 league fixtures (summer league) of the published season (the last date of actual league fixtures) must have represented the…See More

I think it is quite probable that some people may have voted twice via they home and office computers.

The vote IS flawed as there are apparently more votes than members and that should not be possible and you CAN vote more than once! You cannot vote more than once from the same computer but you are permitted to vote a second time if you log on to…

I think it would be better to ask the team captains to canvass their squads and feed the results back via this website or ML as any vote made by just the members of this site will be inconclusive. My vote would be for PAR to be used in the summer…

If ML cannot identify who has voted more than once then the vote should be declared null and void and another method will have to be thunk up! A better more complete voting mechanism may be to get all of the team captains to canvass their squad…

The compromise sounds like a good idea but I would suggest we make it PAR to 15 from division 2 downwards in the summer but it would probably be good to trial PAR 15 this summer at some point.

Would it be possible to trial PAR 15 from Div 2 down during the second half of the summer to see how that compares with HiHo?

Is there a way to email all members of this forum to inform them of the vote?

I think SAWSS would shorten the game a little but not too much. It would facilitate come backs so long as you could prevent your opponent from playing a winning shot. I would have thought that an incentive for players to go for winners would be a…

SAWSS - the definition of a winning shot could be one where the opponent fails to get their racket to the ball before the ball is deemed dead. I think it would be an interesting change and would amount to a half way house between PAR and HiHo as…

Forget PAR, forget SOW, forget HiHo and start thinking SAWSS - you know it makes sense.

The solution is simple - SAWSS - Server And Winning Shot Scores Same as the tried and trusted Hi-Ho / SOS (Server Only Scores) but you also win a point when you play a winning shot irrespective of who served.
