From the KSRA Teasurer

Unfortunately my plea concerning the clubs that have not paid their court fees and subscriptions has fallen on deaf ears, apart from Beckenham and Maidstone who have now paid in full. Thank you for your intervention Oliver in respect of Beckenham.

Unlike Ian who had retired status, I am self employed and do not have the time to constantly chase clubs to pay their fees. It is incumbent on all Secretaries/Treasurers of the clubs to ensure that they pay their club fees on time in support of our County Squash.

I have today sent out reminder letters to those clubs that have not paid (see list below) and in some cases e mails. I would like to remind all committee members that the County Constitution requires all affiliation fees to be paid by 31st October in the year :-

County Constitution - Section 4 para 4.3.

" If the SRA affiliation fees remain unpaid by 31st October, the club member shall immediately forfeit all rights within the County until such fees are paid"

In effect, if you take this to its natural conclusion, this means they :-

are not permitted to play in County leagues which would invalidate results of games that they have taken part in post 31st October 2009,

and, unless they have paid their individual fees to England Squash, they are not permitted to play in tournaments or for the Country.

I am sure that all committee members do not wish to invoke the County Constitution but rules are rules and the fees need to be paid.

Given these circumstances I am now in consultation with England Squash for them to collect the Kent fees next year which I warn you all will involve debt collection agencies and charges if fees are not paid on time !!

The Committee could of course decide to appoint another Treasurer who has the time on their hands to "chase the money" and I am more than happy for this to happen.

All, sorry to have to say this but it does not help things with some people in the County writing me very rude and obnoxious e mails about their outstanding payments when this has been a very difficult year for us all.

For the record the clubs with outstanding fees as at today's date are :-

Clubs

Biggin Hill
Cascades

Hythe
Lloyds 44/two sports
Mote
Syndale Park

Teams

Len - Is Whitstable Centre the Waterfront Club? I paid the subs at the fixture meeting so think this is not us? If it is us, how much?

Apologies from Hythe Cricket and Squash Club. We are currently without a Treasurer but endeavour to get this dealt with asap.
