It was fantastic to see an all-Kent final in the British Junior Open Under-15 Championship in Manchester on Sunday, with Georgina Kennedy of Park Langley overcoming Amelia Henley of Rodmersham.
Sadly, we will not be fielding a girls' county team at under-19 level this season because of a shortage of players.
That's why the need to attract a new generation of female players is one of the priorities of the Kent SRA and that is, hopefully, shared by all clubs in the county
This Saturday (November 5th) is World Squash Day and the whole programme is dedicated to attracting female players to our great sport.
We will be holding free squash and fitness sessions at The Mote from 12 noon to 4pm, including Squashacise classes.
One-hour sessions will begin at 12.15pm, 1.30pm and 2.45pm and special membership offers will be available on the day.
We need to build a new structure for women's squash in Kent and this is the start.
Please tell all your wives, girlfriends, sisters, daughters, cousins, mums and aunts.
