Thank you to Tunbridge Wells and especially Alison Lush for helping to organise an entertaining night of doubles on the 11th July. The tournament was won by Lynn Jeffries and Alison Bradshaw. Look forward to the next event hopefully on 19th September.
It was my pleasure to attend Hawkhurst and play some doubles as part of the club’s 24-hour marathon in aid of UNICEF.
The members who took part in the “night shift” deserve a big pat on the back, and it was great to see so many people take part in support of a very good cause.
Most importantly, it was great to see such a buzz around the place again.
Hawkhurst currently play in the Eastbourne League and we would be delighted to welcome them back to the Outer Kent league next season.
A big Well Done to Stuart Guest and his team for organising a fantastic event which raised well over £1,000.
Tim “We’re not very good at doubles” Garner and Will “Usain” Brownsdon, delighted the home crowd by taking the Dulwich Doubles Open title in emphatic style on their Kent Doubles Circuit debut despite initially playing down their chances of success! Having survived a marathon semi final against the fast improving Jonny Jones & Sam Butler, taking a very long match 3-1. They powered home in the final in straight games, beating another up and coming duo, Declan Connor (No.2 ranked player on the circuit! Sponsors take note!!) and Sam Henley.
First of all thank you to all that entered the Bromley Doubles Open last weekend. The level of entries was great and some great matches were played through out the day.
The latest rankings for March 2013 are now up, with the points from this event being added in. These can be found in the ‘Rankings‘ section.
For those who are interested, entries are now open for the Rodmersham Doubles Open 2013 being held on the 18th of May 2013.
There will be a men’s event and a mixed event for this tournament.

Congratulations to Amelia Henley and Georgina Kennedy, Women’s Kent Doubles Champions 2012!!
The Women’s Kent Closed Doubles Championships took place at Rodmersham Squash yesterday and with a total of 8 pairs, it was a very successful day.
Runners up, Keeley Seamons and Louise Gregory fought well against Juniors Henley and Kennedy but the young pairings performance was too strong winning 3-0 in the final.
Overall, it was a successful day and was great to see so many ladies from Kent getting together.
Look out for future events, friendly matches and tournaments!!!
The Kent County Doubles Championships was given a massive boost today when former Mote All Stars Marcus Robson and Jason Goodayle announced they were coming out of retirement to take their place amongst the tournament’s elite as “number 1 seeds and potential tournament winners” (according to Jason!)
A special request was made to be put in Jonny’s group, who was recently the target of a “Can I play you every week?” campaign instigated by messrs Goodayle and Duke! as he was deemed an easy target and a group stage warm up match!
As a responsible tournament organiser, I countered this notion listing Jonny’s many talents and qualties only for the rebuttal to state that virtually all of these were off court traits and none were on court!
Hands were shaken, the words ‘well played’ were uttered and that concluded the matter!
Tournament kicks off 3 weeks time so get your entries in!!!
